INTORDUCTION
In CDT we have been able to create anything we wish.
Our teacher said that we can make anything that will work and is sensible and will turn out as a good finished result.

MY PRODJECT
My prodject is to create a ring tree for my room.
I have alot of ring's and other bits and bobs that can be hung on.

BUT WHY?
I think it would look nice and i would learn different skills like Brazing,Shaping and other different skills

WHAT SKILLS WOULD BE INVOLVED?
In the corse of the 12 weeks i would learn how to Braze which is when you use a Blow Tourch thing and put 2 bits of metal together and melt them together.
Shaping metal is when you get a bit of deformed metal and you melt it into the shape you want it to go.
Steel is an alloy which contains iron and carbon i would use it to create the branches of the tree.

Questions
Are there certain machiens that i will have to use?

To answer your question - the wooden base can be cut out and made by hand. It depends on your shape.
To cut the metal, this could be done by hand, using a hacksaw.
To join the metal branches together you would have to use the forge and learn how to braze.

I'd like you to do the same as Lillie - I would like you to do some research this week. You'll have to find out about:
  • Brazing
  • Materials (steel)
  • Shaping metal
  • More pictures to give you some more ideas
  • Come up with a range of ideas - start sketching them.
